There are two things we need to do to get the most out of Garcinia Cambogia: take the right amount of it at the right time. That’s it. The biggest job is figuring those two things out. Depending on the product brand you use, that may sometimes be easy, and other times a lot harder than it should be. But once you have it sorted out, it’s all downhill from there.
How Much to Take
As I eluded to above and in my review, the answer to this very much depends on the brand of Garcinia you use and its specific ingredients. Different ones will have different recommended doses. Unfortunately, because I only use one brand, Premium Garcinia Cambogia, it is the only one I feel comfortable offering guidelines for. Using other products should, in theory, be similar, but I cannot say that for certain. If you are interested in switching to the supplement I use, you can find out more about it here. But of course, my feelings won’t be hurt if you don’t.
My pills of choice are 1000mg each and contain 60% HCA (a.k.a. hydroxycitric acid, which you can read more about in the benefits section). The dose is one pill three times a day, for a total of 3000mg. There is some wiggle room depending on what your goals are. Just a single pill each day should still be beneficial as an appetite suppressant. That is exactly how I use the product today, and it works great. But please try to not take more than is suggested. There is zero reason to do it. It won’t get you to where you’re going any faster.
If you continue to take the supplement after reaching your weight loss goal (which is what I do), you should take a two-week break after every three months of use. Once the two weeks are up, you can resume taking your Garcinia pills the same way as before. Continuing to use the product in this way is a personal choice and is absolutely not necessary. I just find it makes maintaining my weight easier.
When to Take It
Take the supplement 30 to 60 minutes before eating. This is how long it takes natural Garcinia Cambogia to be processed by your body. If you take it closer to your meal than that, the appetite reducing effects may not fully kick in, possibly causing you to eat a bit more than you should. That said, don’t worry too much if you don’t follow this guideline all the time. Consistency is good, but sometimes life gets in the way. It happened to me on more than one occasion, but I still found that in the long run, as long as I generally stuck to this rule, everything was fine. To keep things simple, I took the pills before each major meal: breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Other Diet Changes
The great thing about Garcinia extract is that it should work regardless of your current diet. That is how I initially used it. I made zero changes to what I was eating for several weeks, and was still getting positive results. Encouraged by what I saw though, at that point I did decide to change my nutrition. And it took things to the next level.
If nothing else, drink about 2 liters (6 to 8 glasses) of water per day. Using a dietary supplement will result in increased water loss. By drinking lots, you counter that effect, helping your body’s hydration stay in balance. Having plenty of water also helps your body naturally cleanse itself. Though yes, you will run to the bathroom a lot.
As far as diet change, I decided to (again) jump on the Paleo diet bandwagon. I have tried it on and off before but was never convinced. However, it turns out the combination of Paleo and Garcinia is a force to be reckoned with. When I used it before, my biggest beef (no pun intended) with Paleo was that I was always hungry. Paleo is a high protein, low carb diet. But carbs are what helps your brain figure out that you’re full. So while I did, in theory, eat enough, because of the lack of carbs my brain had other ideas. Enter Garcinia Cambogia and its “helping you feel full” benefit. It was exactly what I needed to counter my issue with Paleo. I was now losing weight, eating healthy, having more energy than I sometimes knew what to do with, but no longer always feeling hungry. I highly recommend this combination. If you’re interested in pursuing Paleo, this guide got me up and running in no time. It was recommended to me when I was first starting and hand held me through the whole transition.
So there you have it. Short and (hopefully) to the point. Using Garcinia Cambogia correctly is pretty straight forward. And if you are willing to make some changes to your diet on top of the supplement, then you’re really off to the races. If you’re already taking Garcinia extract, hopefully you are seeing the same results I was. If you’re not using it, today is a great day to start. Get it here, and don’t let anyone or anything stand in the way of achieving your goals.
